Red-Hot Indians Win Again
|
The Cleveland 1995 Indians defeated the Kansas City 1977 Royals, 5-2, at Jacobs Field. Cleveland 1995 center fielder Kenny Lofton had a superb performance. He was 3 for 5 with a triple and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jason Grimsley, the winner, is now 5-0. He struck out 3 and walked 2 over 6.1 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. Jose Mesa nailed down his 7th save.
Sandy Alomar Jr., who is a three-time All-Star, helped out the Cleveland 1995 cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the catcher was 1-4.
