San Francisco 1989 Stopped, 6-3, by Atlanta 1995
|
The San Francisco 1989 Giants and Atlanta 1995 Braves riveted fans at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium.
The Atlanta 1995 Braves racked up a win at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium, bumping off the San Francisco 1989 Giants, 6-3. Tom Glavine, who started for Atlanta 1995, pitched effectively for his team. The Braves improved their record to 19-19 with the win over San Francisco 1989.
Charlie O'Brien had a big bases-clearing double for the Braves in the bottom of the first inning. With Atlanta 1995 trailing 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a slider from Terry Mulholland, who is tied for 10th in the NL in quality starts with 5, and swatted a double to center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Braves ahead, 3-1.
"Tom made his pitches," said Atlanta 1995 manager Kelly Audia.
