Reds Rally to Eke Out Win
The Cincinnati 1976 Reds faced a tough opponent in Los Angeles 1978 pitcher Tommy John, but still scratched out a win at Riverfront Stadium by a final score of 7-6 in 12 innings. John went 7 innings and allowed 4 runs. The win makes Cincinnati 1976 25-24.

Batting in the bottom of the 12th, two-time Gold Glove Award winner Dave Concepcion had a real shot to win the game. Los Angeles 1978 pitcher Rick Rhoden was determined not to let it happen. But with one out, Concepcion hit a run-scoring single. The Reds had a walk-off triumph.

"We had a chance to win," said Los Angeles 1978 manager Kelly Audia, "but we didn't get it done."
