Easler has 3 hits, Leads Pirates to Win
The Pittsburgh 1979 Pirates defeated the Chicago 1989 Cubs, 9-1, in part because of right fielder Mike Easler. Easler was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Pirates. Pittsburgh 1979 goes to 30-24, Chicago 1989 to 26-28.

Bill Robinson had a big bases-clearing double for the Pirates in the top of the third inning. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pirates ahead, 5-0.
