Florida 1997 Marlins starter Al Leiter turned in a workmanlike performance against the Pittsburgh 1979 Pirates at Pro Player Stadium. The winner was Leiter. He threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The loser was Jim Rooker. The win elevated the Marlins to 33-27.
