New York 1986 Mets starter Bob Ojeda kept the St. Louis 1985 Cardinals hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. The win elevated the Mets to 34-30.

First Baseman Keith Hernandez made an impact for New York 1986, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Kurt Kepshire in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Hernandez was 1-3 with a double and a walk.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Hernandez told the New York 1986 Gazette. "It's as simple as that."
