Phillies Trillo Smacks 5 Hits Sunday, May 11th , 2025 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Manny Trillo, it came around today. The 29-year-old second baseman scattered hits all over Veterans Stadium to pace the 10-5 Philadelphia 1980 Phillies victory over the Atlanta 1995 Braves. Atlanta 1995 skipper Kelly Audia told reporters in the press room that "Trillo deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Trillo hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Manny Trillo hit an RBI double in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
