Andre Dawson discovered that today at Wrigley Field, as he smashed three home runs during the 18-8 Chicago 1989 Cubs win over the Pittsburgh 1979 Pirates. "I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," the Chicago 1989 right fielder said in his postgame interview. "The first was a hanging curve, the second was right down the middle and the last one was a good pitch, but I guessed right and put the wood to it." Dawson, who is tied for 5th in the NL with a .350 batting average, finished the day with 4 hits in 6 at-bats and 9 RBIs. Andre Dawson hit a three-run home run off Bert Blyleven in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Bert Blyleven in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off John Candelaria in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and flied out in the 8th.
