Behind Maddux, Atlanta 1995 Blanks Colorado 1997, 20-0
Sunday, May 25th , 2025
The Colorado 1997 Rockies manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Atlanta 1995 Braves. The Rockies were overpowered by Atlanta 1995 starter Greg Maddux, who hurled his club to victory, 20-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Kelly Audia said.
Over 9 innings, Maddux blanked Colorado 1997 on 4 hits with no walks and 15 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Maddux said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
Over the season Maddux has thrown 94.1 innings and dished out 93 strikeouts with a 5-6 mark and a 2.67 ERA.
