Walker Bashes 5 Base Hits

No matter what the Pittsburgh 1979 Pirates threw at him, Larry Walker hit it. He easily handled Pirates pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Expos triumph, 19-0, at Olympic Stadium.
"The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview.
Told of Walker's quip, Pirates skipper Kelly Audia said he "would take him up on that next time."
Larry Walker hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Jim Bibby in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off John Candelaria in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.
On the year, Walker has hit .299 with 7 home runs, 42 RBIs and scored 38 runs.
