Orioles Rally to Win, 6-5
|
Thanks in large part to designated hitter John Lowenstein, the Baltimore 1983 Orioles beat the Chicago 1993 White Sox, 6-5. Lowenstein was 2 for 4 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Tim Stoddard, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. The Orioles now have a record of 25-22.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when Baltimore 1983 third baseman Glenn Gulliver, facing Chuck Cary, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Orioles the 6-5 win.
"This place was rockin'," said Lowenstein.
