Red Sox Losing Streak at 6 After Extra-Inning Loss to Astros
The Houston 1980 Astros wiggled past the Boston 2004 Red Sox, 4-3, at Astrodome. The win was highlighted by the performance of Houston 1980 pitcher Nolan Ryan. Dave Smith snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 3.1 innings. He's now 3-1 on the season. Houston 1980 has now reeled off 8 straight wins.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jose Cruz in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a solo home run off 13-year veteran Mike Timlin to win the game for Houston 1980. The home crowd went nuts.

Cruz attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
