Roger Maris left his imprint on the 13-3 New York 1962 win against the Toronto 1993 Blue Jays. Maris, who is tied for 6th in the AL in total bases with 125, slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 6. The Yankees improved their record to 30-21 by beating Toronto 1993.

With New York 1962 leading 2-0 in the bottom of the third, Maris hit a sinker from Juan Guzman for a grand slam home run. It was his 22nd home run of the season and put the Yankees ahead, 6-0.
