New York 1962 Gets 5-2 Road Win
|
The New York 1962 Yankees licked the Baltimore 1983 Orioles, 5-2. Mickey Mantle deserved a big chunk of the credit. The center fielder belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Yankees. Whitey Ford, the winner, improved to 7-4. He held Baltimore 1983 to 2 runs on 5 hits over 7.2 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts.
