Minnesota 1991 Loss Spoils Terrific Game by Hrbek
|
Kent Hrbek had a good game, but he could not keep the Minnesota 1991 Twins from falling, 10-9, to the Cleveland 1995 Indians at Jacobs Field. The Minnesota 1991 first baseman was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 in the loss. The win went to Dennis Cook in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Rick Aguilera took the loss. The second-place Indians now sit at 51-37.
Paul Sorrento had a big 2-run double for the Indians in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Cleveland 1995 trailing 8-7 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a changeup from 1987 Cy Young Award winner Steve Bedrosian and swatted a double to left. It was his 25th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Indians ahead, 9-8.
Sorrento told reporters after the game: "Took some doing, but we got it done."
