Reds Slap 5-2 Loss on Pirates
The Pittsburgh 1979 Pirates could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Bruce Kison into a win. Instead, the Cincinnati 1976 Reds prevailed, 5-2. Kison threw 6.0 innings allowing 2 runs. Cincinnati 1976 pitcher Manny Sarmiento got the win. He's now 2-0. Grant Jackson was tagged with the loss. The first-place Reds have won 6 in a row.

Joe Morgan came through with a big-time hit for Cincinnati 1976. The second baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Cincinnati 1976 manager Kelly Audia.
