Kison Impresses as Pirates Knock Off Braves, 3-1
|
The Pittsburgh 1979 Pirates, behind a great outing from Bruce Kison defeated the Atlanta 1995 Braves, 3-1, at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium. Kent Tekulve picked up the save, his 5th. The triumph puts Pittsburgh 1979 at 20-16 for the season.
Kison picked up the win. He's now 2-3, after putting the Atlanta 1995 offense in the deep freeze. Over 7 innings, he allowed no earned runs on 2 hits.
"Bruce pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Pittsburgh 1979 manager Kelly Audia.
